Citrine is often called quartz topaz, citrine topaz, or topaz. Citrine is any quartz crystal or cluster that is yellow, amber, to amber brown. Although, often cut as a gemstone, citrine is actually somewhat rare in nature. Citrine is only one of several quartz varieties. Being of the Quartz Family, it has a hardness of 7, fracture is conchoidal, glassy luster, rhombohedral cleavage, and is transparent to sub-translucent.

Citrine is one of the only stones that dissipates negative energy, and never requires cleansing or clearing. Warm energy, promotes optimism. Also attracts abundance, and is known as a "merchants' stone," to be placed in cash register or where one conducts business, to not only acquire positive wealth but to maintain it as well. Activates third chakra. Enhances body's healing energy. Good for mental focus, endurance, and self-esteem.

Citrine is the birthstone for November, and its corresponding signs are Gemini, Aries, Libra, and Leo.
